life

my life has changed since i've been on here.  highlights from the last several months include:

-graduation from taylor

-ann & david's wedding

-6 weeks in ireland

-moving to oklahoma

-getting engaged to the love of my life

-starting work at a preschool/children's ministry

wow.  so i haven't been on here for a while.  that doesn't necessarily mean i have a life and am doing more interesting things, though.  more likely i'm just on facebook instead of xanga.  hm.

so, i graduate on saturday.  16 years of schooling will all be over with.  what a weird thought.  school has been my life for as long as i can remember, and starting saturday that's not true anymore.  i'm pretty much done now, but officially it's saturday.

i definately have mixed feelings about leaving taylor.  i am going to miss a lot of people.  and chapel.  and always having people around to talk to and eat with.  i think i'm going to be very lonely when i get into the real world.  i realized the other day that i'll have to make friends again, and i'm not sure i know how to do that.  at taylor you just become friends with people cuz you live with them, and eat with them, and sit by them in class.  but in real life that's not the case.  hm.  good luck with that, i guess.  the thought of not having to write papers and to be able to read whatever i want to read is appealing.  and having a bathroom that doesn't have stalls in it will be nice too.  although, i do love the 2G bathroom.

easter break technically starts tomorrow, but i am done with classes now.  most people are going home... but not me.  i am the PA on duty.  so i will be on campus from thursday at 11 pm til 11 pm on monday.  brutal.  the good news is, i will be working the front desk for a lot of hours.  no one else will be here, so i get to sit at the desk, do homework, putz online and get paid for it!  sweet.  during that time i will write part 4 of my senior paper, a paper for women in minstry, and watch walk the line.  that's all i have planned.  it'll be awesome.  (sarcasm, sort of).  i'm a little bit bitter cuz i would love to go home and eat eggs goldenrod and sing all the great easter hymns at church.  but, oh well.  it'll be good.

tomorrow i get to go have dinner with the elliotts!  i have to interview a couple for christian marriage, and i like them, so that'll be really fun. 

with the remainder of my freetime, i am going to head to the library to get some research for part 4.  my motivation lies in the fact that graduation is 5 weeks from saturday!  i can do it.  and even have fun in those last 5 weeks.

a lot has happened since i was on here last.  so, here's a selection of thoughts i haven't posted yet...

i used the second shower in 2G's bathroom for the first time the other week.  who'd have thunk that after 4 years in the dorm, i had never used that shower?

i'm applying for a job at grace community church, where i worked this summer.  the process is kind of long, but i'll have an interview in the next couple weeks.  snap, how much would i love to move to indy and work at grace?!?

i've written 2 sections of my senior paper!  only 3 left...

me, justin, and ross played "rescue" in chapel on monday and it was awesome!  i can actually play sheet music and we all sounded really good together.  i love christian ed friends.

curtis is here for his spring break, which is very exciting.  he's pretty much amazing.  and he bought me a waterford crystal picture frame!  just because he was coming to see me!  yeah.  he's incredible.  we played 6 games of intense ping pong yesterday and it's one of my favorite things to do together.  and we've been hanging out with aaron and sheli and isabel and sydney, which is really fun cuz kids are awesome and i'm not usually around families.  all's well in that department.

pretty much, life is good.  God puts so much good stuff in my life and i get distracted by the dumb, negative things way too easily.  i'm trying to learn to train myself to focus not on the mosquitos buzzing in my ear, but the beauty all around me.  thanks to wes coker and the CE retreat for a sweet analogy and time of refreshment.

and it's a new season of amazing race!  i love that show.  maybe a bit too much.  but it's fun.  and i'm kind of hooked on kelly clarkson lately.  i can't explain it, it just happened.  i was looking around allison's i-tunes and i couldn't help but listen to her cd like 5 times in a day.
